Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. Lamentations 3:22-23

Recently my pastor preached on four ways that God shows His compassion to us. If you’ve been feeling distant from God, take some time to meditate on these points.

1. The Lord sympathizes with us. Because He suffered, He identifies with our suffering. (For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses…Heb. 4:14-15)

2. The Lord is forgiving. As far as the east is from the west has He removed our sins…(If we confess our sins, he…will forgive us our sins and purify us from unrighteousness. I John 1:9)

3. The Lord is patient with us. (The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love. Ps. 103:8)

4. The Lord is always with us, promising His peace. (I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. John 16:33)

Rejoicing in our compassionate God,

Ruth
