The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned. (Isaiah 9:2)

I love light. That’s why I get such pleasure from snow sparkling in the sun, yellow sunbeams spilling through my kitchen windows, or the soft glow of a Christmas candle. I’d like to think my attraction to light is a manifestation of my joy in the Light of the World, but then again, it could just be a case of seasonal affective disorder (SAD). Christmas is a wonderful time to celebrate Jesus as the Light of the World and the Light of our Hearts.

O Holy Night (verse 2)
Led by the light of faith serenely beaming,christmas-star.jpg
With glowing hearts by His cradle we stand;
So led by light of a star sweetly gleaming,
Here came the wise men from Orient land.
The King of kings lay thus in lowly manger,
In all our trials born to be our Friend;
He knows our need,
To our weakness is no stranger,
Behold your King, before Him lowly bend!
Behold your King, before Him lowly bend!
