Singing songs for and about God has always been Karen’s passion. Karen was about ten years old when she sang her first solo in church. By age sixteen while on her first missions’ trip, she sensed God’s call to serve Him in her vocational life, and she believed music would be a significant part of that. For years, Karen has dreamed of recording a solo album “some day,” but after becoming a wife and mother, Karen thought “some day” would probably never come. Nevertheless, the dream did not fade. So, on New Year’s Eve 2006, Karen and her husband, Matt, began praying for an open door and for the necessary people to help make this lifelong dream a reality. After an amazing set of circumstances, in the fall 2008, God finally flew the doors open wide. “Just One Glimpse” resulted, and Karen is so grateful for God’s faithfulness…

Lyrics

The Bridegroom

She wore her mama’s wedding gown,
It was the prettiest one that she had found,
A princess tiara all shiny and new,
Reflecting a love forever true

Her grandma’s pearls graced her wrist,
Lovingly shared with wisdom’s kiss.
A blue topaz upon her finger
Praying this day would always linger

CHORUS
Something old and something new,
Something borrowed and something blue
Her bridegroom awaits and dreams will finally come true

She held her worn heart in her hands
Giving it freely without demand
A new heart was placed within her breast
Offering peace and quiet rest

Her Savior’s robe of righteousness
Loaned to clothe her sinful mess.
Royal-blue blood flows through her veins
Now an heir of the King who’ll always reign

CHORUS
Something old and something new,
Something borrowed and something blue
Her bridegroom awaits and dreams will finally come true

Bridge

She’s dressed and ready for Him
And He rejoices over her
She’s dressed and ready for Him
Let the wedding begin

CHORUS
Something old and something new,
Something borrowed and something blue
The bridegroom awaits, He’s waiting for me and you.
The bridegroom awaits, He’s coming for me and you.

Call On Jesus,
Cathleen S. Weber

When the pain goes deeper with each tear you cry
When the cost of failing seems way too high
When it’s too hard to change that you can’t even try
All you have to do is call on Jesus

When it feels like you’re lost without a friend
When it seems like the hurting will never end
When your spirit is broken and your heart can’t mend
All you have to do is call on Jesus
All you have to do is call on Jesus

CHORUS I
Call on Jesus; He’s the One Who made you
Call on Jesus; His love alone can save you
When you’re drowning in despair and you feel like no one cares
All you have to do is call on Jesus
All you have to do is call on Jesus

When you’re caught in confusion and trapped in your shame
When your heart can’t hold one more drop of pain
When you look back on your life and all you see are the stains
All you have to do is call on Jesus

When you long to give up and dismantle your dreams
When regret is driving you to painful extremes
When hope starts falling apart at the seams
All you have to do is call on Jesus
All you have to do is call on Jesus

BRIDGE
Cry out His Name when the world won’t give you peace
Cry out the only Name that brings redemption and release

CHORUS II
Call on Jesus; He’s the One Who made you
Call on Jesus; His love alone can save you
when you’ve lost your way He will whisper peace be still
All you have to do is call on Jesus
All you have to do is call on Jesus

No Place I’d Rather Be
Karen Burkhart and Felix Weber

There’s no place I’d rather be than right here in Your presence
Nothing compares with Your embrace
The world cannot take away the beauty of this moment
When I’m gazing at Your face

CHORUS
So here I am, Lord Jesus
I need You more than yesterday, Jesus
I love You more than words can say
Jesus, I’m Yours
I’ll wait on You, Lord Jesus
Your love is more than life to me
Jesus, in Your presence I am free

The weight of the world these days lays heavy on my shoulders
I need a quiet place to pray
The peace that You offer me breathes life to my spirit
Your gentle voice begs me to stay

CHORUS

BRIDGE
The noise from the crowd is growing louder by the moment
It’s drowning out Your still, small voice
But when I draw near to You it fades to a whisper
Then I hear echoes of Your joy

CHORUS
