From Broken to Beautiful—Scripture Foundations to Rebuild Your Life

autumnHow do you rebuild a life? Our interviewee would say that studying, meditating, and memorizing scriptures is the best place to begin. Start by looking up these references. Then journal how each Bible verse relates to your life.

1 John 4:10
Isaiah 53
Psalm 103:12
Isaiah 43:25
Colossians 3:13

“Now I will free you from their control and tear away your chains.” Nahum 1:13 NCV

1 Peter 2:23a
Psalm 7:10-11

“If we are God’s children, we will receive blessings from God together with Christ. But we must suffer as Christ suffered so that we will have glory as Christ has glory.” Romans 8:17 NCV

“When life is good, enjoy it. But when life is hard, remember: God gives good times and hard times and no one knows what tomorrow will bring.” Ecclesiastes 7:14 NCV

“I wait for the Lord to help me, and I trust His Word.” Psalm 130:5 NCV

“Each heart knows its own bitterness, and no one else can share its joy.”( Proverbs 14: 10)
I strive to bear good fruit and leave the bitter behind. (Galatians 5:19-23)

“But the grace of our Lord was fully given to me, and with that grace came the faith and love that are in Jesus Christ.” 1 Timothy 1:14 NCV

“You save the humble, but you bring down those who are proud.” Psalm 18:27 NCV

“No one has ever given God anything that He must pay back.” Romans 11:35 NCV

“All of us are dirty with sin. All the right things we have done are like filthy pieces of cloth.” Isaiah 64:6

“There is no one who does anything good; there is not even one.” Romans 3:12b NCV

Only God is good. (John 17:25a NCV, Mark 10:18 NCV)

It is only through His Son that I can do anything good. “In Christ Jesus, God made us to do good works, which God planned in advance for us to live our lives doing.” Ephesians 2:10 NCV

“He saved us because of His mercy. It was not because of good deeds we did to be right with Him. He saved us through the washing that made us new people through the Holy Spirit.” Titus 3:5 NCV

“It is God who makes us able to do what we do.” 2 Corinthians 3:5b NCV

“Work as if you are doing it for the Lord, not people.”

In Ecclesiastes 5:20 NCV it says, “They do not worry about how short life is, because God keeps them busy with what they love to do.”

And I love sharing how miraculous He is! Colossians 4:23b

In Galatians 6:14 NCV it says, “…The Cross of our Lord Jesus Christ is my only reason for bragging. Through the Cross of Jesus, my world was crucified, and I died to the world.”

My belief in Jesus Christ has made me a new creation as stated in 2 Corinthians 5:17. “The old things have gone; everything is made new!” This allows me to let go of the past, the old me, and start new everyday.

But I am humbled by John 15:5 NCV where Jesus says, “But without me they can do nothing.”

I am nothing without Him. It’s in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for.” Ephesians 1:11 NCV One day at a time.

According to Mark 11:25, “if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.”

“…if you do anything, do it all for the glory of God.” (I Corinthians 10:31)

When I stopped focusing on how everyone hurt me and how I’ve hurt others, misery was exchanged for peace. Unmasking my sin from other people’s sin against me helped unscramble confusion. I was only responsible for my own. Taking my sin and pain to the cross, leaving it there, and moving forward was vital. Satan wants me to dwell on the negativity; God wants me to dwell in Him. Meditating on misery left kept me in bondage to misery. Meditating on God’s Word keeps me free. Daily, I ask God to help me to die to self. Because nothing good lives in me, (Romans 7:18 NCV, Romans 3:10-12 NCV) I need to focus on God and His holiness. (Isaiah 57:15 NCV) Only He saves. If I could heal myself, I wouldn’t need a Savior. (Isaiah 53:5 NCV)
